Matteo Macchioni was born in Sassuolo (Modena), and he has been studying music since he was a child. In October 2007 he gets his Master\u2019s degree in pianoforte with honours. During the pianoforte studying years he carries out an intense concert activity and he begins to study Liric singing.<\/p>\n

In June 2010 he appears in italian tv talent show \u201cAmici di Maria De Filippi\u201d, then makes his opera debut at \u201cTeatro Giuseppe Verdi\u201d of Salerno as Nemorino in \u201cElisir D\u2019amore\u201d of Gaetano Donizetti, under the conduction of the Israeli Maestro Daniel Oren.<\/p>\n

In the spring 2011, Matteo meets the bass baritone Natale De Carolis. Under his guide Matteo debuts and performs in the \u201cTrapanese July Musical\u201d Festival\u00a0 interepreting the role of Ernesto from the \u201cDon Pasquale\u201d of Gaetano Donizetti. In June 2012 gets to the final round of \u201cToti Dal Monte\u201d international singing contest. In September 2012 makes his successful debut at Stresa Festival, playing the role of the Count of Almaviva in The Barber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini.<\/p>\n

In 2014 he debuts in Puccini\u2019s opera \u201cMadame Butterfly\u201d, along with a famous international cast, including the famous Soprano Daniela Dess\u00ec and the Tenor Fabio Armiliato, and in Mozart\u2019s \u201cNozze di Figaro\u201d with the Austrian conductor Johannes Wildner. Both operas are on stage at Genoa\u2019s Opera House \u201cCarlo Felice\u201d. Matteo is one of the protagonists of Karol Wojtyla \u2013 The true story wich debuts at the Cracovia Opera House on the 2nd of April 2014 to then carry on to Rome, where Pope Giovanni Paolo II\u2019s canonization is celebrated.<\/p>\n

In June 2014, Matteo returns to Geona\u2019s Opera House \u201cCarlo Felice\u201d, to interpret the Count of Almaviva from Baber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini and in August he debuts in Viaggio a Reims (by the same composer), at the Rossini Opera Festival. In the autumn of the same year he performs Count of Almaviva from The barber of Seville at Verdi Theatre of Padova and Abate di Chazeuil from Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilea, on tour with \u201cCircuito Lirico Lombardo\u201d in the Theatres of Como (Sociale), Pavia (Fraschini), Cremona (Ponchielli) and Sassari (Verdi).<\/p>\n

In 2015 Matteo sings The Barber of Seville in Le\u00f3n (Mexico), he debuts in Britten\u2019s Billy Budd conducted by Andrea Battistoni and directed by Davide Livermore at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Mozart\u2019s Don Giovanni (as Don Ottavio) at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, conducted by John Battista Rigon and directed by Lorenzo Regazzo, he also appears in La gazza ladra at the Rossini Opera Festival, conducted by Donato Renzetti and directed by Damiano Michieletto and in The marriage of Figaro directed by Mario Martone and conducted by Stefano Montanari at Como, Cremona, Pavia, Brescia, Bergamo.<\/p>\n

In 2016 he sings The marriage of Figaro at Taetro Regio di Parma and Teatro Valli of Reggio Emilia, debuts in Rossini\u2019s La Cenerentola (as Don Ramiro) at Leipzig Oper (Germany), returns at Rossini Opera Festival in august 2016 for a Recital, and debuts in Donizetti\u2019s Olivo e Pasquale at Donizetti Opera Festival in Bergamo.<\/p>\n

In 2017 he debuts at Teatro alla Scala in Milan with Rossini\u2019s Gazza Ladra (Isacco) conducted by Riccardo Chailly and staged by Gabriele Salvatores, he sings Ramiro (Cenerentola) at Firenze Opera (Maggio Musicale Fiorentino), debuts in Rossini\u2019s Mos\u00e8 in Egitto at Bregenzer Festpiele and sings Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Rovigo Opera House.<\/p>\n

In 2018 he performs \u00a0La Cenerentola at Leipzig Oper, Barbiere di Siviglia at Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen, Adina at Rossini Opera Festival, La cenerentola at \u00a0Welsh National Opera in Cardiff and on tour in various English cities and he debuts in L\u2019occasione fa il ladro (Conte Alberto) at Tiroler Festspiele in Erl (Austria).<\/p>\n

2019 engagements include Don Pasquale at Genova Opera House, Mozart\u2019s Don Giovanni at Theater Freiburg, \u00a0Rossini\u2019s Guillaume tell (Ruodi) at Erl Festspiele (Summer Festival) and the debut in Mozart\u2019s Cos\u00ec fan tutte at Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

In 2020 after performances in Freiburg and Copenhagen, the pandemic restrictions produce cancellations. In this contest Matteo is ayway able to do concerts Italy and digital projects.<\/p>\n

In 2021 he performs Rossini\u2019s Stabat Mater in Trieste, then he debuts Gianni Schicchi for Centro Studi Busoni in Empoli (Tuscany), Don Giovanni in an open air production near Imperia, then concerts in Italy, Barbiere di Siviglia in Trieste and Don Pasquale in Rovigo.<\/p>\n

In 2022 Matteo sings\u00a0 Don Giovanni in Carpi (Mo), then Rossini\u2019s La Cenerentola at Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n

2023 plans include Le nozze di Figaro in Verona, Il paese dei Campanelli in Martina Franca, the debut in Cina at Macau International Music Festival with Il Barbiere di Siviglia, then concerts in Italy and abroad. For autumn 2023 it is also scheduled a new EP, based on a new collaboration with Piero Cassano, historical founder of Matia Bazar and succesful composer for Ramazzotti, Mina, Anna Oxa and other stars. The new EP is anticipated by the singles “Armi Fragili”<\/a><\/strong> and “Dove anima c’\u00e9”<\/a> .\u00a0<\/strong>From october 20th IL MOMENTO PIU’<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0VERO<\/strong><\/em><\/a> new EP is available on all the principal digital stores!!!<\/p>\n

In autumn 2023 he performs “Il Tabarro” and “Il flauto magico” in Verona, “Don Quisciotte alle nozze di Gamaccio” in Mercadante Theatre, Altamura (BA), and concerts. 2024 includes\u00a0 the debut in Greece at Olympia Theatre Maria Callas of Athens with Rossini’s “La Cenerentola”, “Turandot” at Arena di Verona Opera Festival, the retourn at Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, “Tosca” at Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Daniel Harding conducting.\u00a0 The 2025 schedule includes “La Cenerentola” in Klagenfurt (Austria), Arena di Verona Opera Festival with Verdi’s “Nabucco”, “Traviata” and “Rigoletto”, Rossini’s “Il Turco in Italia” at Teatro Filarmonico (Verona),\u00a0 and the continuation of his intense concerts activity.<\/p>\n

The 2026 engagements include Falstaff at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Ermione (concert version) at the Op\u00e9ra de Marseille, Adriana Lecouvreur and Turandot at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and the return to the Arena di Verona for the 2026 season with Boh\u00e8me, Nabucco, Aida, and Turandot.<\/div>\n

Future engagements include Tosca on tour with the Teatro La Fenice of Venice in Shanghai, Andrea Ch\u00e9nier at the Opera di Roma, Verdi’s Alzira and Franchetti’s Cristoforo Colombo at the Filarmonico in Verona, and Falstaff at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.<\/div>\n
